Daredevil star Charlie Cox has confirmed he’s voicing a role in an unannounced Sega video game. Speaking at New York Comic-Con 2026, he shared a funny anecdote from the recording sessions that hints his character will be American — here’s everything we know so far.
Charlie Cox is adding another video game role to his résumé, this time for Sega.
The Daredevil star revealed at New York Comic-Con 2026 that he has completed recording for an as-yet unannounced Sega game.
“I did another one! It doesn’t have a name yet,” he said. “I did a Sega one. I’ve done one since. It hasn’t come out yet. It was fun to do. It’s hard. It’s a whole different job, man.”
Cox went on to share a humorous anecdote about his experience working on the game, saying the crew didn’t realize he wasn’t American.
“I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say, but I showed up for it, and I met them for the first time, they asked me to do this game, and so I agreed to it. Then I had to do 40 hours or whatever it was, and I showed up for the first day, and I was like, ‘Hi guys, nice to meet you! How are you?’ And all of them went, ‘…oh, he’s English.’ They’d hoped, they’d wanted him to be American. But now I’ve got to do 40 hours of lines I’ve not prepared in an accent. Yeah, I think they thought I was American.”
That at least yields one concrete detail about his role in the mysterious game: he’s playing an American character (or at least, a character with an American accent). Given the roughly 40 hours’ worth of lines he recorded, his role is likely central to the plot.
Cox first mentioned he was working on a new game earlier in 2026, though he declined to share details at the time.
Beyond that, little is known. Cox has already proven his voice acting chops in Expedition 33, where he played Gustave and famously recorded all of his lines in a mere four-hour session. Players lauded his performance after the game’s 2025 release, and he was nominated for Best Performance at The Game Awards that year.
Sega’s upcoming lineup includes Stranger Than Heaven, Virtua Fighter Crossroads, Persona 6, and Alien: Isolation 2, among several others. Since this particular project doesn’t even have a name yet, it’s unlikely to be any of those already-announced titles — so fans will have to wait and see what’s in store.
In the meantime, Charlie Cox fans can look forward to Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, though it’s set to be the end of Matt Murdock’s current adventures — at least for the time being. The news broke in September 2026 alongside reports that showrunner Dario Scardapane exited the series during post-production.
Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio penned a heartfelt goodbye to the series on social media, writing, “We have the final Season, season 3 heading your way next year with some very cool stuff. Much love to all who have been supportive. I love that character Fisk. Always will. Off to another neck off the woods. Meanwhile… Season 3 is coming!”
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is set to release in early 2027.
